Be Back Soon!!

I'm taking a little break from the blog world because I'm preparing to do something I've never done before. That would be, preaching a sunday morning sermon in two services. Quite an intimidating task for me but God's been good and I think it's going to go well. It's just taken a lot of time and energy to crank this out. I don't understand how preachers do this week in and week out. More power to them. I'll let you all know how it goes after tomorrow is finished.

Introducing Mike & Rita

These are the ministers here at FBCLA. They've made things even more fun this summer (especially Rita cause she stays pretty keyed up, even though Mike usually looks more keyed up than Rita). Thanks for the good times guys. You should name your first boy after me.

Absolutely fantastic!!!!

I don't generally wake up early enough to see the sunrises here but last Sunday I did and was pretty glad about it. It was cold outside and quiet. It was really nice. I should do that more often but probably won't. Especially since I already have picutes of it, why wake up that flippin early?

Little Brother Jared!!!!

Steve and Julie, you are awesome for sending me the ultimate care package. Thank you so much, I love you guys. I'm loving it here but I'm gonna love seeing you all again too when the summer is over.

Sooooooooooooo great to get my little Jared over here with me for a few days (five days actually). It's been so awesome to show him off and give him a glance at what I've been doing here. I'll be glad when he's gone cause I'm feeling threatened. All my friends are starting to like him a little too much ;-)

Todd, Teri, and Jared Meyer got to meet Jared on July fourth so that was fun to have those two worlds unite for a moment.

There is this Mexican Food joint in Santa Fe that I saw featured on the Food Network and I've been wanting to find it and we finally did. It was just ok, I think I should not have gotten the tamales cause those aren't my favorite anyway. It was funny once we got inside cause at the big tables they mix parties so we had great conversation with this guy to the right who seemed like he was a pretty authentic Santa Fe person (artsy and eclectic but an older one of those) and then across from us were two Physicist who were married. Very random but fun. And of course since I'm kind of a photo nut, I asked all our new friends to take a picture with us.

You can see more pics from his visit in the link below.

    Sandia Peak and Old Friends

This is the Sandia Mountain range in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Todd, Teri, Kelly H, Jared and I went up the world's longest tram to get to the top of the peak and then got to hang out up there for a while. I was well worth it to see the view over the land and feel that cool mountain air. At the base it was prolly close to 90 degrees but at the top it was 54 degrees and it had just rained so there was that fresh crisp smell in the air. It was fantastic! Click on the link to see all the pictures we took.
